Sports’ Injuries

Getting you back on track

We understand just how frustrating it can be when a niggle in your hamstring, tendonitis, suspected shin splints or a sprained ankle stops you doing what you enjoy. And sports injuries are not just for elite athletes.

Whether it’s down to strain, trauma or even a poor warm up, any one of us can experience pain and discomfort when taking part in sports or exercise. But stay positive – physio can get you back on track, help you stay injury free and enable you to reach your full potential.

What sports injuries do we treat?

We can successfully treat:

  • Muscle, tendon and ligament sprains and tears (e.g. hamstring strain)
  • Anterior cruciate ligament injuries of the knee
  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Sprained/twisted ankles
  • Meniscal injuries of the knee
  • Rehabilitation from fractures
  • Rehabilitation from shoulder dislocations
  • Shin splints
  • Stress fractures
  • Traumatic capsulitis
  • Whiplash
  • Biomechanical abnormalities
  • Anterior knee pain
  • Sprained fingers

How do we treat sports injuries?

After discussing how your injury is impacting you and your performance, we complete a full biomechanical assessment to find the cause of your pain. We then create you an individual, tailor-made treatment programme.

We always aim to resolve your injury and prevent recurrence in the future, so use many different techniques. A typical programme might include a combination of joint mobilisation, stretches, manipulation, massage or taping. We’ll also give you a bespoke exercise plan that you can continue at home, for maximum benefit.
