Training / qualifications

I studied for 2 years in the Institute of Technology, Carlow and received a Higher National Certificate in Applied Physiology and Health. I then progressed to study BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy at University of Teesside. Since qualifying, work has mainly been in the private sector working closely with Orthopaedic Consultants, both in the MSK environment and in the postoperative rehabilitation setting. Alongside hospital work, the opportunity arose to work in the Middlesbrough FC Academy for 3 years.

Having spent 3 years working as a physiotherapist in New Zealand and Australia, I returned to the North East of England. In both the Southern and Northern Hemisphere I attended a wide variety of courses and obtained qualifications in topics such as Dementia Management, Acupuncture, Mulligan Technique, Paediatric Physiotherapy and Persistent Pain management.

My passions

I used to be heavily involved in rugby but retired early due to work demands and injury. I still love to watch both live and on the TV and still believe that some day I will don my boots again. Most of my spare time at the moment is spent either going to weddings or furniture shopping.
